CLASS EM is now recruiting for a Marine Surveyor (Classification Society) in our Indonesia office
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Surveying various types of ships, maritime equipment, machinery and cargo-handling equipment
• Conducting surveys and certification on behalf of public and governmental authorities
• Communicating and cooperating with clients and colleagues as necessary
• Contributing towards the further development and growth of the company
• Producing accurate and concise reports
• Dealing with clients' queries on a daily basis This is an independent role and weekly hours will vary according to requirements. Experience and skills
• Formal qualification in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering
• Minimum 5 years professional experience, gained as either Class surveyor, Owner Superintendent, Shipyard Quality Control Inspector or as Chief Engineer (on board merchant ships)
• Practical and theoretical knowledge of hull, machinery, materials, equipment and safety systems of ships
• Previous experience as a surveyor of Classification Societies would be an advantage
• Experience of working in challenging physical conditions such as confined spaces, potentially hazardous atmospheres and extreme temperatures and weather conditions
• Willing to travel frequently
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written
